The workshop was held from 1-16 July and was part of the three-year international program Dance Architecture Spatiality, an Erasmus intensive program, conducted by Frédérique Villemur and organized by the Vakalo College of Art & Design (Greece), the University of Derby (UK), L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Montpellier (France), the University of Montpellier III Paul Valéry (France) and the Iuav University of Venice (Italy). In 2012 it took place in Athens and in 2013 in Vicenza and Venice.
The international workshop DAS (Dance, Architecture and Spatiality) united 20 students coming from different universities and colleges (departments of architecture, visual arts and musicology) to experiment with architectural spaces and more precisely Palladio’s works. After two weeks of working together they presented a somewhat unusual event.

The public performance «Edipo su corso Palladio», was a free interpretation of «Oedipe sur la route». The latter, by the recently deceased Henry Bauchau, gave a contemporary reading of Sophocles’ Oedipus, the inaugural piece of the Teatro Olimpico. This performance was imagined and staged by the choreographer Patrice Barthès, supported by Els Janssens-Vanmunster for the research and the vocal approach.
