Is Design set in stone? Design workshop and competition

 A collaboration of P.Pnevmatikos Marble SA - New Marble SA and Vakalo Art & Design College.

The students in Vakalo Art & Design College were asked to design a furniture or a utilitarian object made entirely out of marble. The workshop and the competition were coordinated by Manolis Iliakis, tutor of Product Design and Architectural Composition. The winning designs were manufactured and published in the EK magazine.

The final results of the competition:
1st Award: Makkas Ioannis for “SOUND BAR”,
2nd Award: Kotseli Maria for “MARMER LAMP”,
3rd Award: Passipoularidi Stella-Io for “MEZZALUNA”,

1st Distinction (a tie): Fousteri Maria for “FISH” and Kontogiannis Konstantinos for “LAPSTOP”,
2nd Distinction: Plageras Dimitris for “MRB”,
3rd Distinction: Selmasli Katerina for “L HANDLE”.

All the awarded designs were constructed by the company in association with the designers.
